B.O.B's airplane

Found this cute airplane art!

For those who have not heard the song of B.O.B titled " Airplanes".
Here is the video.

Here are the lines in the chorus of "Airplanes"

"Can we pretend that airplanes / In the night sky / Are like shooting stars / I could really use a wish right now."

The lines sends a powerful message that one can make a wish even on random appearance of simple objects and flying airplanes in the sky.

“Airplanes” features Hayley Williams of Paramore, singing the chorus while Part II of the song features rapper Eminem.

How to Burn Calories in the Office

One of the easiest way to burn calories is when you exercise in the office. You may not be aware that you are actually losing weight while working.

Here are ways that you can follow to start burning calories at work.

1. Take a walk.

You can try walking a few blocks to your office. Walking is one of the best daily exercise to burn calories.

2. Stand.

You actually burn more calories standing up than sitting. Try standing up for 15 minutes to do a stretch and just observe the people around you seated.

3. Take a fitness break.

You know how it is when you take a break. Usually, you just sit and sip a coffee in the pantry. Try to combine step 1 to 3 in your break time and you will surely burn more calories than you expect.

4. Try a fitness ball

During your fitness break, you can replace your office chair with a fitness ball so you can try out some fitness exercise with it while you still have the time. So, it is like going to the gym even at work.

5. Keep fitness equipment at your desk

What a better way to do a work out in the office! As long as you see your gym gadgets in your table, you will always be reminded to grab one and do a arm curls when you are given the opportunity. Remember that it is good to be surrounded by fitness equipments.

6. Organize a fitness team at work

You can always get social with your office mates and ask around to find out if they are also interested in burning calories.

7. Meetings on the go

You can brainstorm outdoors and hold meetings outside the office for better perspective. On your way out, you will surely burn those calories.

8. Adjust your pace

Try to do things in a faster pacing. This way, you get to u burn calories more than the usual.

I gotta feeling.. today's gonna be a good good day..

We all have our ups and our downs.

But today was a good day! can you hear the Ice Cube music too lol

See this was my 16:8 last week ......

You never know how God is going to bless you. So when people begin to hate you for what God has done? Don't pay it no mind that's just confirmation, maybe they hated Jesus and I don't even come close.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you... this seems to mean nothing anymore it's more like. Do as I say not as I do! hmmm!.. In public. anybody else know any hypocrites?

Whew! That was really a tough week. I've been thinking about the past, present and the future. Well, Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever!
We live.
We learn.
God will always be there for us.

Basic car maintenance tips

I tried to learn the basic of maintaining a car and I know it is not easy to do everything, but knowing just the basics won't hurt anyway.

Every week, we need to check the tires for damage.

It is a classic practice to use a penny to check the tire tread.

By inserting a penny in the tire grooves (with Lincoln's head facing the tread) - if you observe that the top of Lincoln's head is showing, then the tread needs to be replaced.

To better understand what is going on, please do watch this video.

How to check for leaks. This is really cool. You'll never know what is leaking beneath
your vehicle. Looks easy to me!

I'm glad to have my car fixed and back in good condition. Still need to put more money into it but for now she's all I got lol. Guess, you never really know what you got till it's gone.

Are you one of us? - 16:8

Ideas are everywhere. We know that an idea can be
inspired by almost anything the mind can actually
conceive.

Now, let me ask " how can we turn an idea into a
movement?"

If you see someone with a great idea, do you have
the guts to follow?

I just watched a very cool video that I wanna
share with you guys. Here goes..

The idea is simple. The idea works. The idea is now a movement.

You know what is great about starting something new?
When the idea is still fresh?
When you know that there is something cooking?

It is the love that you see all around you. True love that comes in the form of support from the people who believe in you.

So go out there and keep transforming your ideas into a movement. Who knows how many will follow.

Thanks for all your support. - Teamsixteen8

Opportunities multiply as they are seized.
- The Art of War by Sun Tzu

Leading the way

Hello everyone!

Perhaps you might have heard the famous line of
Michael Corleone" in The Godfather Part II " which goes something like this " My father taught me many things here — he taught me in this room. He taught me — keep your friends close but your enemies closer."

Yep, the concept is the same with one of the sayings in the book of Sun Tzu entitled " The Art of War".

See, I've always pondered about the idea of going to wars. It is a battle out there everyday anyway and I hope you would agree.

Say, a new competition joins the neighborhood attracting locals with new stuff. It gets you thinking, will my customers prefer the familiar over the exciting? So you start thinking of ways to improve and compete. You put up promos and maybe it won't even mind the competition. But you know what, one should always have a plan and a strategy in doing things. Well shit happens when we least expect it I guess, so it would still be better to have a plan.

Now we are talking about strategy. For every team there is a goal and a plan.
I say we make a good plan and we do it. As for Team Sixteen 8, we believe in collaboration. We plan to communicate with the people. We plan to find out how we can grow the business from what has been said.

Karlton Rembert: Man of the hour

1. Tell us about your people?

Sixteen8 is a Team of people from all walks of life as well as other country’s all working together to see the movement come together. We all have a set of particular skills we use to make the best clothing line in the WORLD lol…

2. How do you differentiate yourself?

Well we are heading in the direction of being completely organic from the tee’s to the tag and even going paper less on line just another small way to give back I hope. Also we have a purpose other then styles were in the business of providing hope.

3. Tell us about your your facilities?

Well for now it’s the kitchen table a computer and phone lol and a team of go getters.

4. Describe/outline your typical day?

Well to live my Sixteen8 I wake up and repeat some positive affirmations say my prayer and head to work. After those 8 hours I go for a run or some kind of work out then head home to get on the grind Business that is. I read a book NO! tv besides a hour and a half for down time to watch a movie. Call my partner check my accounts and sites then say my prayer and go to bed.

5. What is the start-up story behind your business?

Honestly a tattoo that I got that represented the grind put into a useable format that could serve as a reminder of what it is that I’m doing with my day and I told my partner about it. Then he said sounds like something to share with the world and then there was Sixteen8 a fashion statement to represent the best way to spend your day. Thanks for asking lol.

6. Where did your funding come from, and how did you go about getting it?

Well the best way I could the truth and starting out with having a plan of how much was needed to get to the goal were my business would be able to support it self with out my pay checks lol. But there was no real formula other then people who respect the truth in my vision and wanted to be apart of something real and decide to give back to organization that was really living what we put out. But you should get a business plan together to really get a real idea of what your business needs and ask your friends to be investors there your biggest fans at least I hope there mine.

7. How do you go about marketing your business? What has been your most successful form of marketing? The internet and word of mouth they really our big deal. We will hit the road go to trade shows, fashion shows any show with the ability to reach my target market and experiment with the ones that work and did not work and be your own billboard you will be your biggest form of advertisement you should talk, walk live your business to everyone you meet.

8. What stops you from throwing in the towel during those frustrating days of running your business? Knowing that everything happens for a reason that I can make serve me for the greater good and taking it one day at a time believing that God did not bring me this far to let me fail anyway but forward.

9. In one word, characterize your life as an entrepreneur.
Determined.

10. What is your definition of success?
Over coming your biggest obstacle the one you had no idea how to reach and then moving on to one even bigger.

11. How do you achieve balance in your life?

By using Quite time to just think about the day before and the one to come. Reading every book on motivation, peace, love and balance I can fit into my day and listen to motivational tapes in the car on the go. Prayer and putting God first most times lol.

12. Do you believe there is a formula to becoming a successful entrepreneur?

Only one worth talking about NEVER GIVE UP! And watch the company you keep.

13. What pieces of advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs?

T o do anything you must educate your self on your trade and build the team to support your vision. Don’t try to do it all your self and learn when to say no and how to trust others with your vision. Never give up and there is always somebody else that’s done it before you so get in keep a coach of some sort of a mentor to inspire you to stay on track. Don’t expect to get rich over night and make it through the first five years and learn when to stop doing something that does not work.

14. Is there someone who has influenced you most and been your greatest inspiration?

Yea there is and please don’t judge me but it is… Jay-Z he made it from something to nothing and the most classic way ever. It just shows me that really anything is possible even with out going to college or being the smartest person ever like Bill gates.

15. Excluding yours, what company or business do you admire the most?

Speaking of Bill Gates Microsoft they change the way people live there lives and provide the world with the biggest change ever and I would like to provide that same thing with Sixteen8. A couple billion want hurt either lol.

16. Where do you see yourself and your business in 5 years? 10 years?

A premiere clothing line that showed the world that were more then fashion were a fashion statement. We will change way people buy clothes and buy into labels with out providing a community impact first.

Saturday, March 20, 2010

Being highly effective everday

Hello again everyone. Thank God it is Friday!

I've been surfing the net to look for a book to feature and this is what I discovered in the library of my consciousness.

There will be more books to feature of course in the coming weeks, but just in case you have not heard or read about this one yet, then it will be for your good to check " The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People".

By the way, I was just trying to humor you guys with the picture in the right. See, it isn't really about making money all the time. If you read my previous post about success, you would learn a little something like the line " To leave the world a bit better".

Now, let us browse through the main ideas in the book then. Let us talk about the first three habits which focuses on self-mastery.

Habit 1: Be Proactive

Of course we know that this is the exact opposite of being reactive which we often find ourselves doing. You know when we complain?

Being proactive is having determinism to be in control all the time. Having the freedom to choose what you want to become. Influencing people for the better rather than being influenced negatively.

Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind

You just need to focus on your goals.

Habit 3: Put First Things First

This one is actually self explanatory.

Habit 4: Think Win/Win

This is about your relationship with others or simply with an employee. You can reward them with win/win situation where both of you will benefit. Remember to look for relationships that would be mutually beneficial.

Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood

Put yourself in their shoes. That's it.

Habit 6: Synergize

Two heads are better than one.

Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw
This is preserving and enhancing your greatest assets which is none other than you.

Make every moment counts . Have a great weekend everyone.

Success : Find out what it means to me

I would like to share a classic but wonderful poem entitled:

Success
by: Ralph Waldo Emerson

To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty,
To find the best in others,
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child,
A garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.

What is your look for today?

I would like to start trend spotting this week. Checking out websites now that would give me an idea about what the latest trend in fashion is. Well the recently concluded Oscar Awards would come in mind. Highlighting celebrity fashion at their best. I guess right now, I would just have to leave you guys to survey who is the best dressed in the Oscars. I just think this one is too overrated as a subject.

Deciding for the perfect look or maybe just creating a look for today would have to be a challenge don't you think? Well we don't have to go to an awards night everyday but having a sense of style would also mean having a sense of self most of the time, would you agree?

There is a website that I stumble upon but this one does not give me access to create fashion for men. I'm talking about Looklet.com. This is actually a very nice site showcasing designer items that you can put on your models. I wish I can transform this site and make it my own and having my items be put on the models. Well a lot of online games actually have them, you know dressing up your models kind of stuff and it is cool.

What is your look for today? Have you decided already? Just be yourself and have a blast.

Trend spotting wohooo!

Time is ticking
